Posted by Drumsrus on Nov 01, 2008

When i run the restart disk, it says press F1 = Ok, so then the next screen says press C if it is ok to restart, the the computer shuts down and i have to run through the process again. It never progresses to the actual restarting part… Unusual case?

Thanks,

Its MBR is get corrupt. which can not be easily rectified. (with a Startup /Recover disk) You need to attach an External Hard disk which should be loaded with windows. Make it master after removing jumper. Once you boot it with and then download the MBR for your OS. Let me know the status uptothis.

MBR is Master Boot Record which is Firmware helping in bootup PC for All Operating systems. Since Computer have Techincal Terminology So I have to use them. AS your Case is critical, I wud like to suggest you to better is call an Expert to repair the LAPTOP manually, you may have to pay the price but it will cost you less than to buy a new Hard Disk or Laptop. Please vote the solution now, and if you need more assistance let me know.

No problem I have read that you can install the windows xp cd to re-install the operating system. Do you think this might work in my situation? How about this one on ebay:

Window XP CD Purchase

Thanks again!

Let me know first- do you wish to reinstall the Window or wish to repair ?? As for reinstalling you might lost all the data included in Root Directory: the main drive where the OS installed — to recover use the way I told you..
